This is a very pretty and attractive animal skin. They are natural skins from wild animals so may contain blemishes (bald spots, scratches, patches). Photos are of several skins. The blesbok is so similar from skin to skin that we do not photograph them individually. You will received a skin from our stock. Also, may or may not have the little tail. Great bedside rug alternative, drape over a sofa or even use to make hand bags, wallets, etc.
Please understand that due to the fact that these are natural animal skins they will sometimes have occasional marks, fire brands, and scrapes. These blemishes are not defects but simple scars that add to the natural characteristic of these rugs.
Our antelope hides are chrome tanned using methods improved by the African tanneries over time which yield the best quality in the industry. Our cowhide rugs and antelope skins do not have a strong odor or the thin substance of hides tanned in Argentina or elsewhere.
Up keeping of hair-on hides is simple and hassle free. Vacuuming can be done from time to time to remove dust and loose hair. In case of any spillage on the hide, wiping with a wet cloth should do the job. In case of very humid environments, it is recommended to lay the hide out in the sun once or twice a month.
Our African animal skins are also taken legally and imported with all necessary documentation. None of the African animals are endangered species and some are actually harvested in culling events where over-populations need to be thinned.
